LCC Community Trust Recognised at 2026 Mayor’s Community Awards

An evening of celebration and community spirit took place at the 2026 Mayor’s Community Awards, held at Lagan Valley Island Centre, where volunteers and organisations from across the Lisburn and Castlereagh area were honoured for their outstanding contributions.

It was incredible to celebrate such a strong and inspiring community – congratulations to all of the winners! We are truly grateful to work alongside so many fantastic organisations and individuals across the Lisburn & Castlereagh council. We were over the moon that Lisburn Foodbank received runner-up in the “Constellation Award” for Group of the Year. This recognition is a testament to the unwavering dedication, compassion and hard work of our volunteers and staff, who continue to support individuals and families across Lisburn and Castlereagh.

The celebrations did not stop there! We are also incredibly proud of our team members who were recognised on the night. Ashley was named runner-up in the “Rising Star Award” (Youth Category), while Katrina received runner-up for the “North Star Award”, acknowledging her long-standing commitment and service to supporting the local the community. These achievements reflect not only personal dedication but also the strength and spirit of collaboration across the Lisburn and Castlereagh area and the difference they make every day.
Hosted by Ibe Sesay and featured live entertainment from The Jerseytones, the awards brought together community champions, volunteers and civic leaders to celebrate the collective impact being made across the area. Mayor Amanda Grehan commended the passion and generosity shown by local groups and individuals, emphasising the importance of their role in building stronger, more connected communities.
LCC Community Trust is proud to work alongside organisations like Hygiene Bank Moira, Lagan Valley Rural Transport, Live Life Wellbeing Centre, Atlas Centre among many others and to be part of a wider network that continues to stand together for the people of Lisburn and Castlereagh.
