At LCC Community Trust (LCCCT), we know that our work wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and generosity of our volunteers. They are the heartbeat of everything we do. That’s why we make it a priority to celebrate and support them throughout the year.
On 28th January, we hosted our annual Volunteer Update and Appreciation Lunch – a chance to reflect on the incredible work achieved in 2024 and to thank those who make it all happen. This gathering also marked the conclusion of our “You Belong Here: Celebrating Our Volunteers” campaign, which ran throughout January on our Facebook and Instagram pages and highlighted the contributions of volunteers like Gary Forbes and Martine McIntyre.
Gary’s words reflect the heart that so many of our volunteers have for their local community,
“Basically, my motivation for doing this is support for the community, helping people out and basically supporting people who are in need at the time, because at some point everybody is in need!”
Martine describes the range of opportunities for volunteering and the community atmosphere here at LCC Community Trust,
“The great thing about this place is there’s so many opportunities for volunteers. I’ve done crafting – just all different things which is really brilliant, and everybody is so nice. I love it!”
We’re incredibly proud of the caring community our volunteers have built. Through their kindness, they’re helping us provide practical support and hope to those who need it most. One Foodbank client summed up the support they received from our team:
“I would not have achieved what I have over the past few months without the support and guidance of the staff at Lisburn Foodbank.”
The appreciation event was our small opportunity to say a big thank you to every volunteer who gives their time – you are the heart of LCCCT, and we couldn’t do it without you!
