“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
Did you know that we are a hub for Love Your Neighbour?
Love Your Neighbour is a national network of UK churches and other organisations working across towns and cities, to see lives restored, communities rebuilt and to inspire a fresh movement of practical love for our neighbour. We believe that everyone can play a part in the transformation of society, and together we can see lasting change, for good.
Love Your Neighbour projects are all built around three pillars of Crisis, Cause, and Care/Community that will lead to long term change in people’s lives. Being part of this network helps us to learn from and be encouraged by churches throughout the UK doing similar work in social transformation, develop our strategy, and deepen our impact.
Love Christmas
Christmas is a season for kindness; a time to offer a fresh message of hope to those in need. Through Love Christmas, we can connect with our community, bring comfort as we reach out and share Bags of Kindness with those around us. We aim to inspire a contagious culture of kindness. And let people know that we are with them and they are not alone.
That’s why for the last few years, we have packed and sent out 450+ Christmas hampers full of a mixture of staple foods and Christmass-y essentials (e.g. Christmas cake, cranberry sauce, biscuits etc) to those in our community who might not be able to afford a Christmas dinner on the big day. Food donations from the public even enable us to add a little bag of Christmas extras onto our normal Foodbank parcels, to make people feel seen, loved and appreciated.
